Alex has spent several years in start-ups, working predominantly on founding teams for businesses in the clean-tech and leisure industries.  He is an alumnus of the New Entrepreneurs Foundation with access to a strong business network in London and valuable training in early stage business. 

His start-up background includes YES Club (with Rob Weston et al), the Idea Foundation Trust and Lucent Blinds (with Barry Clive and Oliver Hawkins of Hawker Capital), and Undiscovered Bath, now operating as La Bomba Parties and Events (originally with Simon Smith of Bath On Ice).

He led the entry for a technology based crowd sourcing competition under Marblar, identifying nine new technologies with strong development potential and working closely with Barry Clive to achieve a placement with the runners up.

With an honours degree in pharmacology at Manchester (2010), he combines scientific and business perspectives to help find the business models with the greatest potential for large scale deployment of technologies across the communications and energy sectors.
