Mode Black

There are many significant optical improvements available to the optical wireless communication industry from other fields of application.

Our recent Innovate UK project with Network Rail as our partners demonstrated that we can combine these advances to deliver a range of advantages in addition to avoiding radio frequency congestion.

These include reduced weight and size, more relaxed alignment, greater security, higher bandwidth and lower cost of equipment and installation as low power requirements enable self-harvesting.

Our work with partners in various sectors, such as rail, space, military, last mile broadband, internet of things and smart cities has resulted in the spinout of a new company Mode Black ltd
